The Air Force Officers? Wives? Club of Washington DC is offering scholarships to USAF dependents in the following categories: High School Seniors, Current College Students, and USAF non-military spouses. AFOWC is a social and charitable organization that meets monthly on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling. They were organized in 1923 and are the oldest club of its kind. The members are military spouses who live in the National Capitol Region. There welfare fund is a 501 (c)(3) organization. For 2014, Washington, DC Chapter of AABE (DCAABE) is delighted to announce that it will award three (3) scholarships to deserving High School Seniors in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, who are of African American, Hispanic or Native American descent (underrepresented minorities in the energy industry). All awards will be strictly MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS and will not be based on financial need.
DCAABE will award a total of $6,000 in scholarship monies: (1) First Place Award of $2,500; (2) Second Place Award of $2,000 and (3) Third Place Award of $1,500. The Maryland Multicultural Coalition of NAME is accepting scholarship applications for high school students who are interested in the field of education. The application deadline is April 1, 2014, and the announcement of the awardees will be the first week in May. Monetary awards will be distributed to the college in the name of the recipient.
